Integrated brake controller

Help, I have 2011 Avalanche LTZ with the towing package and has every option except the integrated brake contoller. Has anyone ever added one afterfwords? I really dont want to ad a P3 controller and keep kicking it.

 

I was told all I would have to do is buy a new knee bolster, the contolller, and replace the module that is located above the spare tire..... The chevy dealers are no help either.

You cannot add the gm option trailer brake. You gave to go aftermarket. This has been discussed many times here in the past

What's even stranger than the fact you can't add a factory brake controller is that the NHT trucks do not come with the controller. I had to add the controller to the order when I ordered my truck. You'd think something sold as Max Trailering Pack would come with a brake controller.....

Get a Prodigy brake controller. It's the best you can buy. There are instructions you can search for that tells you how to install and add the needed fuses. It's easy. If you can't find the info PM me and I will tell you where to look.

 

Some have added the controller to the small cubby hole on the dash. I guess if you keep kicking it you must be taller than average.
