Tonight on Top Gear USA, they test the 2012 Dodge Charger Pursuit, the 2012 Chevrolet Caprice PPV, and the 2013 Ford Taurus Interceptor! (My money is on the Caprice!)

Im afraid its going to be spoiled for us on the west by you guys lol

I've already seen what the caprice can do irl those are sick. I miss our old 89 that was a boat.

Was a good episode, forgot I recorded the HD one. It plays at 6PM

Well how was it? Spoil it, I don't have TV anyhow lol.

I like watching the Aussie & Brit Top Gear, more interesting to me than the US version. The Boston guy is the only one on the US show I find entertaining. The other two seem like powder puffs.

Ford interceptor won. Lot of stupidity. They have seemed more comfortable with each other. At the end a z06 police car was driven in a challenge on the LA docks against one of the worlds fastest motorcycles ridden by a stunt rider

Ford must pay the show off because they always somehow win all the challenges. It doesn't help that the goofball on the show always gets the GM. I won't watch it after the last season to much stupidity for me. I'll watch the British version instead.

Edit: On a side note I find it funny that Ford sponsors Ice Road Truckers to death on the History Channel, and then somehow there always shown as the best on the same tv network on Top Gear.

Well Tanner gets fords because he is sponsored by them I'm guessing. His rally cross car is a fiesta

Haven't been impressed with the US version. I'll stick to the BBC one.

+1 for the Brits, even if all they do is slam American cars.

Yeah that goofy one got the GM in the best 4x4 truck or whatever challenge I think. What a fruitcake. Even though the Brits are always slamming US, I still enjoy their show more. We make fun of them all the time too, anyways. But they do put on a funnier, well rounded show, I guess the original is usually the best. And when they make jokes, I actually laugh at the jokes instead of how pathetic they are.

that's weird, I Could have SWORN Chevrolet won the Truck Challenges! (except for the Worst American Car Ever, Ford Deserved that one.)

Old 1500 won in Alaska, I believe the K5 won in the desert, and the Duramax won. It's getting better. The British one is largely based around their friendship and they are going on season 18 and the US is on what season 4 or 5

    • Yep! This should be a pin somewhere as @pgamboa really dives into all of this. Thanks for reposting the link!
    • I did the new thermostat after doing a 'flip' for a year. Runs as cool one way as the other in the summer but in the winter there is a bit of a floor. Yellow with the new 70 C thermostat. My data over the life of the unit to date. Still need more cooler. Anyway that floor helped both winter fuel economy and shift quality in the winter. I found it a good balance.
    • Evan Williams Bottled in Bond   So pouring the last of a bottle of Evan Williams Black label last night I set off the the state store for a refill only to be denied the by an empty shelf. Rats.    What the did have was a bottle of Evan Williams Bottled in Bond. 100 proof. Hum, a few bucks more but a known distiller. Lets have a swing at it. ( I have before )    Cracked it open and pour a serving over ice. Hum.... more heat, yes. More alcohol naturally. But the barreling not the proof brings the taste and this one came up short.    Oh is was familiar but the heat ran the barrel over like a Peterbilt runs over a squirrel. Could use a heavier toasting of the oak me thinks or perhaps a longer barreling. Who knows. But what I can say is ice or a water back isn't the answer. What kills one kills them both. Sad. It is a pleasant drink....if you have little to compare it to.
    • I've had exactly one set of Bridgestone. Lasted five year and 125,000 miles and had I known better 15oK would have been a cake walk. I would have bought a like set had they not tripled in price since the first set. I removed them at said mileage with 5/32" remaining in dead even wear all four. They were fuel efficient, quite, comfortable and predictable.    Early on I got a very good alignment checked at least once a year, sometimes twice; kept the tires properly inflated, balanced and rotated. And I've found that many a tire issue can be avoided with great maintenance practices. Lot's of tire dealers will do rotation and balance (simple) for free for as long as you own the tire they sold you so no excuse not to.    Bead prep, alloy integrity and stem health have a huge impact on inflation stability. There are more mountings done poorly that perfectly. Finding a good tire guy is gold and as important as finding a tire you like.    That 3X price increase now two sets of "other tires' later is starting look like a bargain.      Bad maintenance kills more tires than bad tires.
    • Atlas, you kill me As aggravating as a project like this can be you have been unable to hide your fascination with learning and using that angst against this beast like a Ninjitsu Master. It amuses you, admit it now.      BTW, love your writing style. 😉
