1996 chevy silverado wont start

got a silverado that wont turn over. my buddies truck is a 4wd auto with 350 motor, st first you could move the gear shifter and it would start. i replaced the park/netural switch on the transmission and it still wont turn over. any help would be great. thanks

Is this a "No Crank" problem, or a "Crank No Start" problem? Also need more info on the vehicle.

turns out the starter solenoid(sp?) was bad, could turn the battery wire on the solenoid and the inside plastic part would turn. thanks all
