Hey everyone,

I have this snowmobile trailer that I want to change the bearings on. Anyone have a few pointers on how I should go about this? I have never done this before.

Thanks!

Just went though this with my son. He bought a used 2 place open trailer. I told him to change out the bearings as you never knew what condition they were in and what not. Anyways, for the price of 2 bearings and labor to do it (as the races need to be perfect). It was cheaper to buy 2 brand new hubs (bearings already in them). It cost him $66 for 2 hubs. It would of cost him $11 each for the bearing, so $22 per wheel plus $10 - $15 labor to install races. He put the news one on and has one of the old ones as a spare just in case he has problems further down the road.

Bearing are supper easy just make sure you do this in a very clean environment. Remove the wheel, take off the cap over the bearings. Remove the castle nut be very carefull the hub assembly dosent slide off the axle. Removethe hub assembly carfull the bearing dosent slide out of the rear of the hub. Remove bearing and clean all the old grease off. Put on some nitrle gloves ans put grease in your palm . Re pack from the back (large side) of the bearing pushe bearing into palm to catch edge of the glob of grease and repeat many times rotating the bearing in the prosess this will use alot of grease. When the grease stats to come out the other side you have packed the bearing. Lube the axle saft with grease and reassemble. If you want new bearings there is a number on the back of them.
