Hi guys i'm looking to buy a duramax, and found this one for an insanely good price (in canada atleast)

But it has 240k km's (149k miles)

Now im just wondering if this truck will be reliable? looks to be an all stock truck

any input is really appreciated thank you!

I'm sure the engine will be fine if it all checks out. I would really check everything else though, like the front-end. Was it used to tow? Still seems like a high price, even for Canada,eh.

That truck would go for $30k US around here, even with those miles. Diesels take a premium here since everyone wants em.

30K ?

Are you kidding?

Not kidding. Every now and then you'll see really, really good deals (I saw a 2011 LTZ with 14k for $35 grand last spring) but the general rule for GM diesels here is high high high. When I was looking for a truck in Texas it was even worse there because all the concrete cowboys buy them. Miles just don't seem to scare people here as much. The people that have money to buy will buy at whatever price is asked. When I was looking for a truck, the prices on 2006 Duramax's with <150k was ridiculous too. The one I saw in Texas was 30k. Slapped myself, and the price was still the same.

you have to remember, just because it is a duramax dosent mean that its any different then any gas 2500 with 150,000 miles. yeah the engine and trans are the best, but just like a gas truck it can rust, front end parts could be shot, diffs could be humming, could have electrical issues, could of been in an accident. you never know.

an insanely good price? i wouldnt call getting a truck with 150,000 miles for 20k an insanely good price

Yeah, oil rich wannabees that don't know the value in anything ruining it for everyone else! We have a place like that in Canada called Fort McMurray!

also the trucks in texas are no where near the salt belt and the conditions are nowhere near as harsh as they are up in the northern states so the trucks for the most part are in way better condition around 100 to 150k. its also 10x flatter in texas, every other road here in PA is a hill which obviously means your going to be stomping on it and slamming on the brakes much more on hills. i would much rather buy a high mileage truck from texas then one from where i am or anywhere up north.

check this website out, its a giant texas used truck dealer. the trucks have really high miles and are immaculate. expenive too.
