96 5.7 vortec compression issue please help

I have a 96 fullsize with a 5.7 vortec. I put new head gaskets on after having everything checked out. Put it back together and adjust the valves and i dont have compression on any cylinders other than 1 and 6. I think i adjusted the valves backwards is that a possibility?

how did you adjust the valves?

I meant cylinder 3 and 6. I rotated the push rod between my fingers till i could feel it catch then half a turn.
