I have the 6.2 and have been keeping tabs on my mileage since new. For the 28k miles my truck has on it I am averaging 15.1 mpg. The most Ive gotten on one tank is 380 miles and the worst was around 320.

Im confused...

I see people saying they get 15mpg (low) 21mpg (hi) on the 5.3 and 19mpg (hi) and 15mpg (low) on the 6.2..

according to my calcs at that would equal to the following:

5.3l

15MPG = 622 km/tank minus 15% = 529km/tank

21MPG = 871 km/tank minus 15% = 741km/tank

6.2

15MPG= 622 km/tank minus 15% = 529km/tank

19MPG= 787 km/tank minus 15% = 669km/tank

I minused 15% to be on the safe side and account for road and driving conditions..

Im pretty sure what i did is correct,

KM/Tank=[(mpg*1.6)/3.78]*Tank capacity in liters

im using a 98L tank as well, 1mile=1.6km and 1g=3.78L.

That sounds correct. And the 5.3 can obtain 800km Hwy, my uncle did it driving from up north back to Niagara. I've seen as high as 726km if i would of kept driving Hwy, prob could see more. City is brutal and esp winter.

I took a 6.2l Denali for a spin today. On hiwy at 110km/hr it said 11l/100km @120 it was 13l/100. In the city it was around 13-14l/100km...

Not bad for a 6.2, I then took out a 5.3, and only was around town and it wouldn't go below 13.5/100km. And was going in and out of v8 and v4

if u can get that in the city, you can sell it to me :) did your right foot hit the pedal??

lol, I was very light on the pedal, i punched it a few time and the 6.2 has some umph!

and that was maybe 5-10min in the city so not sure how accurate that is.

If i reset it, then at the speed im going to goes to xl/100km. it bounces around a little then will sit at a number +/- some. Is that semi accurate or do i need to be driving for a while?

i found a 2008 denali, 50,xxxkm (pwr tran until oct/13) but I can get it for around $27k...seems like a good deal? or would anyone here recommend spending more (ie 34k+) to get one with warranty?
