Anyone running 255/80/17 OR 255/85/16

Im planning on getting my winter set together and want to try something different Ive always wanted to try the 255 85 16/ or 255 80 17.. Thinking they will be great for the snow the total width is like 10" and tread with between 7.5 and 9 depending what size rim its on...Just would like to actually see them on a rim/truck. This size seemed good because I,ll still have the height i want 32.5/33" but be skinnier..I normally always stick with 285/75/16 which i think is a great all around tire (32.8"x11.2)

I tried a set of bfg mud 255/85r16's, on the truck, listed below.

That same day, I returned to the tire shop, and had 285/75r16's installed .

The truck felt like, it was riding on marbles, at slight turns, at moderate speeds.

It may work for you, since you have more weight, over your rear axle.

I have seen, 255/85r16's, on PGE utility trucks, with large tool beds.

The 255's height is great, but it is narrow.

So you really didnt like them... the skinnier part will be much better in the snow

I had 255/85/16 bfg mt's on my old truck they were great. No issues loved the size didnT seem to pickup and throw rocks like my 285 did

How were they in the snow.. Did they look funny being tall and skinny or no?

Huh, Didnt know that..Probably not an instock size though, Dont think they,ll order 4 just for me to try one on..
