Remove front lisence plate bracket

Recommended Posts

I have a dilemma. I just traded my 08 z71 for a 12 z71 appearance package and my new truck has a front lisence plate bracket which is riveted on and I think is ugly as hell. Does anyone know how I could remove the bracket and cover up the holes? I had thought putting stainless in the holes and then painting the screws summit white touchup paint. Any other ideas are appreciated

There are companies that sell plugs you pop in the holes (color matched also)

White probably shows more but when I moved to MI where no front plate is needed I had a friend use a step bit to drill out/off the rivets and pull the bracket off. The holes barely are noticeable on the dark gray paint.

That's my old ride. Here's a pic of the new one.

I have Escalade roof racks for it that I'll be putting on next spring. I think they'll clean it up nicely.

There are two holes in this license plate recess. They've got bumper plugs in them.
