Need some tire help.

okay so I just sold my 275/55/20s and stock wheels. I will be replacing them with a set of factory reproduction TBSS wheels. I'm still a little torn between Gloss Black and Chrome. I live in the midwest and want to be able to run them year round. So i'm leaning towards black ....but no so sure. photoshop would help if anyone is willing.

 

The next thing that is up in the air is tire size. I have searched and searched and can't really find what im looking for. As of now I'm thinking of running a 305/45/22 Hhankook dyna pro atm.

 

Does anyone else have any suggestions. My truck does have a RC 2" leveling kit on it. So I'm trying to get as close to a 33 inch tall tire as possible with out spending $2000 on tires.

 

Any and all help is appricated.

With a 305, you should run a 305/40R22. It as close to the 275/55R20 in height as you can get

I have plenty of room to go bigger. It looks kind of funny with the 275/55/20s need more wheel and tire to fill up the wheel well. thats why I want to get as close to 33's as possible.

I am going to the 305/40R22 when I change wheels. I am still deciding between chrome TBSS wheels and Factory CK375 22's

I had a guy recomend a 285/50/22 they are a little taller than 33 but narrower any thoughts?

Well factory 22 is a 285/45R22. I need the wider because i have traction issues with my 6.0. Get your wheels and find a tire shop that has both. Then see if they will test fit for you. they mounted a 275/60R20 for me because it was a 33" but it rubbed a little so I got the 275/55R20

with a 32.8 inch tire and +22 offset wheel and a 2inch leveling kit I hope there is no rubbing.

I have a slight rub with a 2.5 inch level at left full lock coming out of my driveway with the 275/55R20

275/55/20 on my stock wheels had no issuses with rubbing before the leveling kit. im not sure how much difference +31 to +22 makes.

The mounting face is 9 mm closer to the wheel center line. The newer trucks have a little more room in the wheel well.

I was always a ,fan of the 285,s.. I think they always end up being the perfect combination of height and width..

But chris is right, if your tryin to go 305..it would have to be 40 not 45,

Im not sure I understand why I would go with a 40? Its shorter than the 275/55/20 I have on their now.

The 40 is a percentage of the width to make the sidewall height. Going to a tire that's 20mm wider you need to change the aspect ratio for the sidewalk height. 305/45R22 is taller than 285/45R22 while a 305/40R22 is about the same size

right and my goal is a taller tire.
