Muffler Swap...

So I've been trying to figure out what to do with my exhaust. Im not wanting to spend a whole lot of money, and I really like the sound of the stock exhaust on the 6.2, but Id like to get just a little more rumble out of it.

I was going to go with the Heart Throb muffler, but now I think all I want to have done is just a muffler swap with a Cherry Bomb Extreme, and leave everything else untouched. Ive had Cherry Bomb before, and I really like how they sound. I was thinking that if I got a loud muffler that it wouldn't be extremely loud because of the resonator, and leaving the resonator on would also help with controlling some of the bad sounds the muffler would make like cracking etc...

I've looked up videos on Youtube of trucks with a different muffler and a resonator added, but they are all the 5.3. Anyone think that my idea will get me anymore sound or will it be a waste of money?

A muffler will get you more sound. If it was my truck i would go with a magnaflow but if you really like the cherrybomb then im sure either one would sound good.

I had a cherry bomb extreme on my silverado with the 5.3 and it had an awesome sound at idle and it really woke up when you got going. I'd definitely give that a consideration

I'd like to do the heart throb, but I don't want to cut up anymore of the exhaust than what I have to. If I can get more rumble out of the the cherry bomb for $65 that's what I'd like to do. Just hoping the resonator doesn't defeat the purpose...

Most people put on a muffler, then if it isn't loud enough get rid of the resonator.

Yea I thought about that too, but was afraid I wouldn't like the sound, but since I had a cherry bomb before I think I'd like it.

Edit: Also since I can't seem to find a muffler with 3 1/2 outlets would 3 inch pipe be ok if I decided to have the garage make a catback?
