Would you like to know I gave up bidding on one 8 years ago for almost $10K that was in very similar condition to that one?

 

It even had a new paint job. I think I stopped at 9,600 and it sold for 9,800. I stopped because the nicest ones were going well under 20K dollars.

That things actually pretty cool looking because of how the fenders are flared out.

it was homologated from the FIA racing series. Back when you had to make so many comparable road cars in order to be eligible to race it.

It dominated the series and made the M3 a legend. The really nice ones in the US are going for 30k+ now....some over 40. I'd be happy finding a rough one. I can do most everything on those E30s from past experience

I loved the one where they wer going to have a "season long comparison" and may and clarkson both bought 20 year old V12 German cars. One got an BMW 850, the other an M-B SL. I told my wife, this won't last long, every important part on both cars costs at least a grand. A few episodes later Hammond asked how it was going and both went bankrupt on their first repair.
