Boat Ramp and TC

Thought about this the other day. Should I just turn off the traction control when launch and getting my boat out of the water? I find some nasty dirt and gravel ramps since I duck hunt and losing power when getting out would suck.

i certainly would., Would probably have to turn off stabilitrak also if you have it. Both of those nanny items are annoying after coming from a truck without them. I'm use to my old truck how it acted with the back end.. this one is a whole diff beast with the nanny guards.

I'd turn off traction control- I turn mine off almost every time I'm driving anywhere it is slick out. Stabilitrac can probably stay on- I don't see that getting in the way on a boat launch.

Stabilitrac isn't a problem...I only have a button for TC. Thanks guys.

The button does both. You hold it ten seconds to disable both.

we leave our Traction Control and Stabilitrak on, because A: the Ramp on the Tennessee River where we launch (New Johnsonville near the TVA Power Plant) can get coated with a thin layer of algae, which makes it slicker than ice in the middle of winter, and B: our Silverado is 2WD with a 3.24 Open Diff, meaning no front wheels to help with traction, and no G80 to balance the power between the rear wheels.

Not like the G80 does much reliably anyhow. I wish GM would offer a real selectable locker like Ford. The G80 is probably my least favorite thing on the truck, it's junk. Never locks up with any consistency.
