20" GM chrome clad wheel problems

How about you just hang onto that bridge you got boned on! I have no use for it!

UPDATE: Phoned GM Customer Care Center, heads-up for all out there with warranty, don't call them, they do everything they can to steer you away from a resolution OR they don't really know anything or are not well versed on the warranty 'Terms & Condition" to begin with.

After no resolution and the Dealership telling me twice that warranty is declined, frustrated I called customer care, they just pissed me off even more and contacted the dealership to get the same response I had already received? Then I did what I recommend everyone should do, (Dah!), I pulled out my warranty booklet and read it. Paying particular attention to the section on "Disputes!". Step 1: Visit dealership - Did that. "Don't like the Answer, proceed to Step 2: Contact Management at the dealership and give them a chance to make you happy. Step 3: (Final Step): If you are still unsatisfied then request that an arbitrator make a decision as agreed to by GM & the client when the vehicle was purchased.

I contacted the Operations Manager after Warranty Police rejected my claim. I informed him that as per the Warranty Terms & Conditions as stated in STEP 2 of the dispute process, I would like a Managerial Decision on my warranty issue. The operations manager requested that I give him the time to check into the issue. I phoned him the next day and he told me that he was trying to contact the warranty person that made the decision. 2 days later I got a call from the dealership to come in an pick out a set of "GM Accessory Rims" of my choice from the part department and they would mount my tires. 4 - Rims - $675 Retail Each, mounted and Balanced, NO COST TO ME - Priceless!!

GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR BRIDGE!! PERHAPS A TOLL COULD ASSIST IN GETTING SOMETHING OUT OF THE STUPID DEAL YOU MADE?

Hey, lighten up, glad it worked out for you, just trying to help, sorry you misunderstood intensions.

The rims you are replacing them with, are still GM wheels, and chances are over time you will have the same problem all over again.

JMHO, you are just "kicking the can down the road a bit".

GM has had a running problem with this as far back as 1998, ask any Camaro SS owner.

GM has had a running problem with this as far back as 1998, ask any Camaro SS owner.

Sorry, point taken. Rims will be put aside and installed when I turn the truck over in a couple of years.

Polished aluminum, very good looking rims but will likely set aside and sell with the truck when it's time to turn it over.

GM should just drop the cheap chrome clad wheels period. I will never buy a vehicle with those wheels on it. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3

I was doing some market research on what kind of wheels people like and stumbled across these comments. I figured since I used to work for one of the companies that made chrome-clad wheels I’d offer some facts that may be helpful. Actually, they are quite a bit more expensive that traditional chrome-plated wheels when you add up the extra engineering, equipment and tooling necessary to produce them. Proof of the cost can be as simple as looking at which companies use them - Mercedes = yes, Audi = yes, Hyundai = No, Kia = No.
