Power Outlets always on, is there a bypass?

Noob here, I bought my truck yesterday (2/25/13) and I'm just getting started. This is my first GM vehicle.

2007 GMC Sierra SLE

I have noticed that the power outlets are always on, and of course we are warned not to leave anything plugged in.

I only ever use these things for USB cell phone chargers. They do, however have LEDs that helped me realize they always have power going to them.

Is there an easy fix to tie these things into the acc power or something, so that they turn off when I pull the key out or open the driver door? I can see pulling the chargers out and pushing them back in a couple times a day creating a lot of wear and tear on the outlets and the chargers, and I'd like to be able to safely just leave them in when the truck is parked.

Any links, pointers or advice would be much appreciated, thank you!

Welcome to the site!

You can probably just leave them plugged in- my brother leaves his fire department radio on all the time and has never had any issues with battery draw.

I have mine in all the time and no problems. If you're going to leave your truck for an extended period of time though I would unplug them. I've had it sitting a week with cell charger plugged in (not with phone attached) and truck started right up no problems.

Thanks all for the feedback!

I guess that I'm glad to hear that I was just being a nervous nelly.
