What gear ratio gears you looking at? If you plan on going with bigger tires in the future gear for those cause regearing is $$$

I do a good bit of driving too and on my 35's currently with 4.88's it sits at 2k rpm at 60 mph. Not that bad and it's really snappy. It would be equivalent to a stock truck with 4.10's

Here's how they fit

Overall they aren't anything special I'll just have to deal with it if I don't want a giant box in my back seat anymore.. I'll miss the deep sound but I'll enjoy the space.

I did the same thing as you except I had to go deep into specs to get the most out of my old shallow mounts. Your subs are probably going to rub and hit against those flap things that fold down with your seats. Mine did and I actually removed those two flaps and that grey trim piece to save even more room. Not sure if you did this also but I used the jacks screw down point and drilled a hole to accommodate it inside and then bolted it down to get it added to insurance incase it was ever stolen. My system consisted of two Kicker 10in compVT's, new model is Comp RT, with a kenwood KAC-9105D. Those things hit HARD and never quit. Was the best set up I had achieved, by myself, and I miss it. Never tried the pioneers so I cannot give you any pointers of the reliability or performance. Hope all goes well!

They suck I can't hear them and when I do they sound hollow and bad. I'm not at all impressed. And the reviews were good.

How are they wired?

This ^^^ and what are the final dimensions of the box internally? What is the amp pushing as well? In case you didn't know, there is a 7 day break in period for the subs, at least, that is what some manufacturers recommend, some even longer. Pushing them hard too soon could cause a sub to kick the bucket. Moderate level should work. You will notice change and if not, send them back and grab the newest Kicker shallow mounts.

I usually order from sonic electronix, best place to get stuff IMO, they honor their 30 day warranty then they will actually honor the manufacturers warranty by allowing you to send them the defective speakers then they ship you a new set so you don't have to wait. Just have to contact and request a return or swap out. Box isn't ported anywhere is it?

    • From where I'm sitting this sounds like a compatibility problem. I'm assuming the 2007 was a 900-series truck, and not an 800-series (they were sold side-by-side in dealerships that model year), since it starts and runs.   This is why I HATE post-2006 vehicles. Everything becomes a huge problem when you try to keep the thing running for longer than the manufacturer has designed it to.    I can't remember when Global-A architecture started - either '10 or '11. For your sake, you had better hope it's '11, or you're going to be spending some BIG money to correct this cluster-eff. That's something you need to find out before doing anything else. You may have several computers bricked ... but the fact that it runs tells me you MIGHT be ok here.     EDIT: Just did a quick refresher. You're screwed. This is Global-A. The 2 systems are NOT compatible in the slightest. Once you get the correct engine in there that IS compatible, you're going to need to see how many computers are locked. Absolute NIGHTMARE to straighten out, too. Your buddy might be better off cutting his losses and finding something else.   Welcome to post-2006 vehicle electronics. This is why I quit the industry, and drive nothing built after 1994. This stuff takes all the fun out of wrenching!

    • True, hard to say what differences there may or may not be between Chev and GM as well as a production year or mid year part change either.    I just found it odd that under the Sierra choice on the Autel that many of the last few years of production year did not include the choice of changing the tire pressure but if that is an Autel thing or a GM thing as to why the choices were not there. Knowing what tpms sensors are on the truck should give some guidance into which choices on the tool even make sense to try as I wouldn't give up just yet with the tool but I guess he will see what if anything he comes up with if he finds out a bit more info and tries a few more things on the Autel.
    • I'm sure if you went to a junkyard where you go in and pull the part off the truck yourself, not a used part place where they do it for you, you can get that part on it's own.  Depending on if and what else you would be buying, and time of day, they might even just skip over adding it as a item to the bill.
