Cruise Control Stopped Working

Just contacted him. Im sure i will get a refund.

 

Regardless I need a new switch correct? If so ill have autozone order me one up so i dont have to deal with broken used parts. Second time this has happened to me.

 

Ill take the old switch off tomorrow when i have light. Let me know if i should order that new switch. You think maybe its not just the switches problem too? I cant wait till all this stuff is overwith!

 

Since you had an intermittently working CC with the original switch I probably would get another. It's possible that if you sat there and checked the on/off switch enough times that it may eventually fail. It may be related to the movement of the blinker portion of the switch as well. I feel pretty comfortable saying buy another switch at this point though. Do me a favor and check the male pins on the other half of that connector closely to make sure one of them hasn't been pushed back somehow. That won't affect the bad MF switch in the truck now but could have been an issue w/ the original.

I was just about to call it a night and decided I'd go to Autozone's website to check out that switch.....no way in hell would I pay that much for it.....lol. You can buy it brand new on eBay and other places for much cheaper. GM 12450067, AC Delco D6299A or several other part numbers. Even if you don't want to go eBay give www.rockauto.com a try. They have the AC Delco version and will have it to you quickly. It's approximately $150'ish at AZ locally.....

Then again, I just checked the price on the one that fits my 02....double yours.

Got my switch today and installed it. Took it for a drive and BOOM! The cruise works! Again I appreciate the help. Thanks so much!

Hey sorry it took so long to get back to you. At this point im not impressed. I cannot catch a break. The switch they sent me sticks when i turn the left blinker on. It does not undo itself when you turn the steering wheel. It just continues to stay on. Put the old one back on and no problems. So again, im stuck with another broken part and have to go through this again. Hopefully they will exchange or refund. I havent heard good things about returning products to them.

Damn.....u just can't catch a break. That was an aftermarket part which is why I try to stick with GM parts if I can. Unfortunately a lot of them are now being made in China as well....I don't think you'll have any problems with RA and will be surprised if u do.....keep me posted plz.

Should i just return it for a refund and get it from autozone or have a replacement sent? Im filling out the form now.

Same exact part but twice the price right? If that's the case I'd get the replacement.

Its not that brand i dont think. Its a different brand.

Autozone is Duralast. Rock Auto is OE Pro.

Yea I just saw that....it sure would be easier to swap out at AZ if you don't mind paying twice the price on it.
