Disabling the auto headlights with a resitor

I recently purchased HIDs for my 2009 Sierra and pulled the drl fuses and I would like to disable the auto headlights. I read about wiring in a resistor, but I dont know which connector and which wires on that connector that need cut. Any help is appreciated!!

Can't help with that. But, for me, I want me lights on all the time! Just safer, and, hey, when you've lived as long as I have, ye kind of get used to it!

Mine are on all the time and they have lasted a long time. As lomg as you use a good relay kit they should last longer than any halogen bulbs. The ones in my old Astro lasted 9 years and when I scrapped the truck I used the balasts in my 2010 Silverado and they are still going after 12+ years just new bulbs were used in the swap over for $30. One balast is getting weak and will not fire 1 out of 100 times but I will replaced it some time this summer. If you don't like them on while your parked then flip the momentary headlight switch to off and they will go off until you take it out of park.

Its much safer to have them on all the time especially when driving around Toronto with all the untrained and inattentive drivers we have here.

I have never done this, and I am speaking totally intellectually.

People on the Camaro boards would park their vehicle in the sun where the sensor is exposed, pry off the sensor cap and with the engine running, and using an ohm meter check the resistance of the sensor.

They would then purchase the correct ohm resistor and solder it in.

This is what I have read, I have no working knowledge of this procedure.

Some people have also removed the sensor cap and snip the wire going to the sensor, however I do not know the ramifications of doing this.
