I am replacing San near everything on mine. We are getting rid of the Dodge 2500 and mine will be the strongest and the primary tow vehicle

Alright, emailed Performance accessories and they said their body lifts are designed to work with hydroboost, and the stock lines for it, which is the good part.

Now, here is the weird part. I look up parts (actually, mostly hoses) for the P/S pump to hydroboost, and then hydroboost to steering gear, and also return line. I keep getting different part numbers off different websites. I look up the parts on ACDelco.com first and then I was just on gmpartsdirect.com and get their part number, then I go back to ACDelco and use their cross reference search for parts, and it shows it with a different part number than the one I originally found on the ACDelco website? Can anyone help me out with specific parts numbers? I keep finding different ones, so I'm getting really confuzed.

Now yous said to look for parts off of a 99-06 2500HD with a 6.0L in it. Im on rockauto and some of these pressure hoses say for a 99-04. Seems kind of odd cause I don't think they changed anything. Any thoughts?

Go 99-04. I am not the one to ask about that

Alright I think I definently figured it out this time, although I may become confused again haha...

I looked up a P/S pump and steering gear for my truck on the ACDelco website and see which other vehicle had both of those equipped from the factory, which turned out to be the same year truck as mine but a 1500HD. So then I looked up a new P/S pump under the 1500HD and there it was, the hydroboost P/S pump. Then found the same gearbox, so then I looked for the hydroboost hoses from hydroboost to gearbox and also from P/S pump to hydroboost, because the pump is the same, just with that extra inlet for fluid from the hydroboost. All in all, I may have been looking all over the internet for hours on end for no reason doing cross reference searching and all that schenanigans

Now the only thing I need to find is a cap for the vacuum booster line. It is a quick disconnect there on the back of the motor. Bet I could just find a regular quick disconnect cap at the local hardware store

I just was dealing with some brake issues.. the 05 sierra HD has cross drilled and slotted rotors all around and I changed the front pads, the inside pads were almost at the rivets and the outer pads were 1/4" + left.. I know the inner ones normally were more because of the piston pushing them but this was more then it should have been. So I was debating on getting new calipers just not sure what you guys are using. I looked at wagner and cardone is there any other good brands or upgrades or performance calipers.. OR can I use the 3500 calipers or are the the same?

After the new font brake job it still didn't stop a lot better, so today I took the rear wheels off and the pass side rear inner rotor was destroyed... the inner pad was GONE! and the inside of the rotor was wore away to about 1/8" and the outside pad was 1/4" left. Im going to replace the rear rotors and calipers Im just curious about some upgrades like you guys were talking about.. What is the real difference between the 2500hd brakes and the 3500 brakesm I know there are different brake nums/codes in the inside of the dash..are the calipers bigger or stronger? Or the rotors bigger?

Please let me know guys I want to get this resolved and the truck to stop good. Im debating on braided lines also.

Our trucks are 1500's but I'm sure you could do a google search for "budget brake upgrade for 05 sierra 3500" or whichever truck you were wondering what to do. Im sure there is something out there because GM makes modifying our trucks easy with even OEM parts :D

Im going to guess the 3500HD brakes are a little beefier than a 2500HD just because it is rated to tow more, so it needs more stopping power. I would do your research before purchasing anything. And as for brands, go with something that is semi loaded and get EBC brake pads and rotors. Haven't done my brake upgrade yet because now I'm purchasing hydroboost parts. Each brand of caliper Im sure has its pros and cons. If you want OEM quality then buy brand new calipers and brackets and that kind of stuff.

And I also bought braided lines, just because a brake upgrade is as strong as the weakest link. I heard from some that braided lines dont help, but there are also a lot of others that recommend them. Guess it depends on how you use your truck

P.S: dont forget that with most of the brake upgrades, they require a bigger wheel to fit everything in. I just so happened to have 17's on my truck already, which is the smallest wheel I can have for my brake upgrade.

Hey Chris, do you think this brake upgrade will affect the sticky weights I have on the inside of my wheels? Or will they have clearance?

Just ordered all the parts I need for hydroboost. Got the two pressure hoses, return hose, hydroboost unit, new HD P/S pump, brake pedal, and new master cylinder.

I do need the vacuum cap/plug. Anyone know what the part number is for that? I know it is a 1/2" plug, just can't find it on any parts diagram
