Man as of late that superstar HS bball kid has been taking a hit from the sports and news communities.  Saying someone illeaglly bought him that hummer.  Today he was cleared of all allegations and his mother did buy it for him.  he will be in the NBA in a few months so why not splurge now he will be able to pay for it soon enough.  People jump to to many conclusions.

Is it just a few months?  Dang I thought he was only a junior.  Either way I agree they should quit giving him grief.  My only problem was that they took out the loan and he was only a junior, making him over a year away from playing in the NBA.  Heck, if he'll be playing next season in the NBA, then more power to him.

So the agent gave his mother the money  ???  :jester:

That would be my thoughts especially seeing as how the car came from an auto broker that basically only caters to celebrities.

I can't really fault the kid even if there was outside assistance though. The atletic department has them playing gmaes all over the country and they are making money off of him so regardless of the H2's legality,he should get a taste IMO.

Folks, being that Akron is about a half hour south of me, we've gotten more of the coverage on this than the national media.  Mom and Lebron live in an apartment and I believe she does not work from what I've heard.  Now wouldn't it be just a bit odd that $50k magically falls out of the sky all of the sudden.  Now she may have done all the paperwork for this, but God knows the tooth fairy dropped some spare change under the pillow.

Everything I heard was it was loan from a bank or laon company in California that was based on what he will be making in the NBA.  Everything I heard about it lead me to believe that not much if any of it has been or will be paid for until he gets in the NBA.

As I was reading your posts I was thinking...he'll either wreck the car or something worse like hurt himself and not be able to play. And sure enough...there was that story.  What a shame.  I just hope nothing WORSE happens.

I didnt read the article posted here but over at espn.com it said the hummer rolled backwards.  Didnt say he put it in reverse.  if it is an auto how would it just roll backwards?
