OK, LEOs, tell us true now; when it's time to spec a new vehicle, just how high on your wish list is suspect comfort and convenience?

This reminded me of this story. And anyone who has seen my posts lately, yes another weird Tulsa crime story. Glad I dont live in that town. Wonder how they decided who hauled him off.

We have Exploders in Bakersfield

Exploders AND Tauruses! (for BPD anyway, as i mentioned in my "End of the Line for the Crown Vic in the THP" Thread, I was VERY Happy to announce that Kern County Sherriff's Office is going ALL GM; Tahoes for the Supervisors, and Caprices for the Regular Patrol Cars)

Unfortunately for Dickson County, we have a VERY UGLY Ford Habit with Taurus Interceptors being chosen for BOTH Dickson City AND Dickson County (its to the point where the Local Ford Dealer pretty much has the Local Governments eating out of its hand, although the Ford Habit looks like its starting to be broken, because not too long ago, I saw a Silverado HD Ambulance that was a part of the County Ambulance Service) Our Local Drug Interdiction Forces also sport Tahoes (although the Officers driving them leave A LOT to be Desired...)

I don't know how it works in TN obviously but it was my understanding that in NH, most counties put bids out for all manner of municipal vehicles- police cars, highway trucks, etc. and then if a town needs a new vehicle that year, it's basically impossible not to go with whoever got the contract that year due to the savings. So some years you'll see a ton of Ford highway trucks and then the next Chevy and so one.

yeah, that how it pretty much works in TN as well, but in the case of Dickson County, they wanted to follow our Chamber of commerce's Slogan: Buy Local, Play Local, Eat Local.

I see the origins of a sexist joke somewhere in there...
