Yah, they have a lot of miles between coffee shops up here to they have to travel fast...

Lol my town has a joke. You can race up and down main street in front of the police station all day long without worry and you wont see a cop. Just dont go speeding by the doughnut shop..... (thats where the speed zone is)

Yeah the next towns Tahoes have all the rear window plastic surrounds and spoiler replaced by built in LED lights. They look wicked when lit up.

The Caprice we just put in service is tiny. Too tough for me to get in and out of, and the trunk is very narrow. We've run Fords for years and will be getting the Interceptor suvs this fall apparently.

The Ford Interceptor Utility (Same thing as a Ford Explorer) is quite popular around here as is the Ford Interceptor, however many departments use the Chargers. The only department around here I've seen that use the Caprice is Aurora Police Department. They love the performance, hate the console shifter (which is being changed to a column shifter for 2014) and it is not made for tall people. The Caprice is made by Holden in Australia and imported to the USA. I personally can't stand the ugly looks of the Ford Utility (Explorer) but Law Enforcement loves the room it offers. You gotta keep in mind that with a duty belt, vest, and uniform, and being in the vehicles for 7+ hours a day, comfort is of the utmost importance.

the chief in the town i used to live in had a GMT400 tahoe.. rest of the cars were all brand new chargers.

PA staties are getting tauruses now... pain in the ass because im so used to being able to point out the distict headlight and tailights of a crown vic.. gotta be careful

2WD LEO 'Hoes are pursuit rated to 130 mph and have ample room and payload rating for plenty of suspects; I would guess that's why Chico PD is stocking up on them.

We have chargers

Take a drive through Indiana and that's all you'll see there too. They don't mess around.

Our county sheriff's chargers got outrun by a drunk guy on a Harley. Same dept who had 4 people escape from jail, one of whom hid in a tree and evaded for 48 hours.

I didn't know a Harley could do 150 MPH.. but I don't know much about the modern bikes.

According to the cops 150 was how fast they were going... I think they were just embarrassed to get spanked by a guy on a bike.

pretty sure my 11 roadglide with a 103ci motor will not get to 150! Also most bikes seem to be speed limited to 130 due to tire ratings and fear of being sued

Lots of R/T challengers here in s/c. Weird cause there is a dealership in Irmo that has their back lot full of the police tahoes . Maybe they are about to send them out cause there ain't much room in the back of a challenger.
