Personal preference I guess. I wouldn't want electric brakes going into water. Just sayin...

Just called the dealer today along with e-trailer who sells brake controllers and both of them told me there is a wiring harness under the dash, looked every where and every piece of wiring plugs into something, no loose wiring, some one has their head up their a@$. I think someone is confussed with the 13's.I use to install brake controllers 15 years ago so I think I wouldn't have a problem finding wiring.

Tekonsha already lists a pigtail on their site for their controller for all the 2014 models with a connector at both ends and it also says that drilling is required to install it.

I think you're going to find it very expensive to add a factory controller. You will probably need a new ebcm, trailer brake relay, wiring harness and probably more. It will not likely be as simple as adding the control part and re programming. I did one on a 2008 and we finally made it work but cost upward of $800 and a lot of time and headache.

Glad you found that. From the instructions on the website it looks like it should be just plug and play. Much easier than adding a factory controller and having to reprogram the DIC and God knows what else.

I called Tekonsha a couple of days ago (their website list a part number 3016 wiring harness) to find out where I can get their wiring harness, they told me it is still in development.

I look forward to seeing how this goes. I plan to follow in your footsteps with this if you are able to find a means to an end. Thanks for being the pioneer.

GM has used the same exact plug for years. They just like to change around the configuration. The plug U-Haul sells has a red wire lock so you can change the wiring around in the brown socket. I am interested to see if the plug stays the same again.
