Hi. I've been driving Chevy Suburbans since 1998. I recently bought bought a used 2005 3/4 ton Suburban with the 8.1 L engine, 4 spd GM tranny and a 3.73 rear end. The truck was prestine with 89,000 mile.

Truck runs great! I had a 2005 1/2 ton Suburban with a 5.3 and a 4.10 and an equalizer sway control for the trailer. The 3/4 ton Suburban with the 3.73 gets about the same mpg but with so much more power. Additionally, the 3/4 holds the trailer so much better. Now, I have the dog wagging the tail, not the tail wagging the dog.
