Re: coolant, I take the lazy approach & buy several gal.s distilled water ($0.99 ea). Drain, fill with same. Drive for a day, repeat as necessary. Drain, fill with DexCool.

Just dropping the trans pan will only remove 1/2 of the OLD fluid. That is why I suggested it, to keep some of the old fluid & worn clutch linning material in the fluid. The Sea Foam conditioner will also help keep internals clean & help seals too.....

If you have push button 4x4 you will need to go the dealer and get Autotrek II fluid.

 

 

 

O'Reilly's carries the Auto Trak II fluid now (ACDelco 10-4017)
