Re: coolant, I take the lazy approach & buy several gal.s distilled water ($0.99 ea). Drain, fill with same. Drive for a day, repeat as necessary. Drain, fill with DexCool.

So you run with just straight distilled water, with no coolant/dexcool at all?

Just dropping the trans pan will only remove 1/2 of the OLD fluid. That is why I suggested it, to keep some of the old fluid & worn clutch linning material in the fluid. The Sea Foam conditioner will also help keep internals clean & help seals too.....
