2010 GMC Sierra interior water leak

My truck is leaking a decent amount of water into the rear passenger area. It's coming into the seatbelt retractor area in the headliner. It's been raining pretty hard for the past two days and I just noticed it. There are water spots in the headliner from it so its a decent amount of water. Maybe coming from the 3rd brake light or weather striping? Any ideas?

we had a guy one time drove a dealer transfer to our dealership with a cracked third brake light. It was a 2012 new HD crew. The water ran all the way under the headliner and dripped on the dash. he drove it for hours like this, ended up killing the nav in the dash. it was awful. at first we thought the windshield was leaking, but we discovered the broken third brake light.

That may be what it is then. I spotted some moisture in the 3rd brake light a week or so ago. It just hasn't rained this heavy for it to really leak like it is.

I've had the same problem. Fixed it with aftermarket sealant.

Just curious, how are you going to clean the head liner?

Do you take it out or can you clean it inside?

thanks

My 09 had this problem. For some reason the 3rd brake light started leaking out of no where. The dealer fixed it with silicone.

I will probably take it by the dealership Monday morning for them to fix the brake light. As far as cleaning the headliner I will use blue coral fabric cleaner and a microfiber cloth and try to spot clean it. I've done this with previous vehicles and its worked pretty good. Just spray some cleaner on the cloth and work it into the headliner.
