auto dim mirror on SLE Sierra

I already have the mirror, just need someone that has knowledge of where to get the wires from to activate the autodimming feature.

The truck connector has wires on pins 3,4,5,6,7 which match the non dimming mirror. The purchased autodimming mirror has wires on pins 1 thru 9. After plugging the mirror in, the power light and onstar works but dimming feature does not. I dont care about the reverse feature just want the autodim to work.

 

Any ideas?

I read on older models that 2 wires run to the drivers mirror to activate the dimming feature. I would not think they would be necessary for the rearview to work also though.

 

So that leaves 2 other wires, one that is mostly likely the reverse disable feature. What is the other wire?

Anyone have a wiring diagram for a 2014 mirror? It would def. help out.

Sorry, I haven't checked in lately.

 

I noticed the same thing (it wasn't autodimming) but probably subconsciously was hoping it was my imagination. Onstar and power light work on mine as well, just won't autodim.

That's what I was thinking. I just finally got a hold of a computer and was looking around. Do you have this wire? If not, simply run a wire from that to an ignition source and it should work.

Adding 12v to pin 2 allows the auto dimming to work. Now the issue is where to tap on to 12v ignition source?

 

Maybe the easiest is from a spare fuse in the fuse panel.

Yes, you can. Purple/black wire in green plug @ BCM pin #6 is ignition wire too.
