Weather Tech Mud flaps

Just an FYI to all that have these installed on their rigs.. Yesterday when I installed my wheel well liners, I had to take off my rear mud flaps. When i took them off there was mud / road dirt caked in between the plastic and the paint. Even though there is a clear vinyl protector back there, it still needs to be cleaned out. I will be checking these every few months to prevent rust from forming. Pain in the behind but worth it in the long run.

Does anyone know if there is some sort of rubber seal that can be added to prevent this?

Thanks for the tip, I will have to take mine off the next time I wash my truck. I don't see why a thin strip of rubber couldn't be put in there to seal out the dirt?

I removed mine because of this issue. I drive a lot of logging roads during hunting season. Be forewarned, the rear liners also trap dirt and gravel between the sheetmetal and the liner.

good point there.. I am on logging / dirt roads quite a bit throughout the year. I think I will try and seal them with silicone.. I did spray the entire wheel well with the gm rubberized undercoating spray they use on the frame. Hope that helps it a bit.

As far as the mud flaps, ill check them again after bow / shotgun season. I plan to keep this rig for a while, I would rather have a few rock chips than full out rust back there
