Yeah I know that's my issue - I want a true 33" basically, but like the wider tires. A 275/60 is a 33" but its 10.83 wide, that's the reason behind the thoughts of fitting 305/55

There is there is usually a big price difference between the 275/60/20 and a 305/55/20, which in turn my sway your decision and the Cooper 275/60/20 is actually 11.06" wide and 33.03" tall. It also comes in a 275/65/20 size and that is 11.1" wide and 34.2" tall.

How does rhe width keep going up in your calculations. My 275/55 the 275/60 and the 275/65 yiu mentioned all have the same tread width of 275 mm

I don't know what he is talking about... Not sure he understands width calculations. A 275 = 10.83 inches wide.

305 = 12.01 inches wide.

Well if I don't know what I'm talking about then Cooper Tires has no idea either, as I got that information directly from the Cooper Tires website! All tires are not created equal, sizes and specs vary from one manufacturer to the next!

I have the 275/60r20 Cooper Discoverer ATP from discount tire, don't remember the price but they are good tires thought I have really like them, but the next set if tires I am going to get/try is the Toyo Open Country M/T in 275/55r20.. Everyone seems to like them a lot so I thought I would try them..

If you didn't notice Michelin didn't make the list. So, vote on the ones that did or your opinion is off topic.

And if u didn't notice, I asked how the "short list" was determined.

That is off topic. The short list was determined from a list of reputable, affordable, and aggressive all terrain tires that fit my preferences.

Michelin makes a great tire, no doubt, but the LTX ATs simply do not have a tread pattern that I prefer, so hence they didn't make the list.

Funny you keep saying off topic. I'm still talking tires with you sir. Your going to have to get used to questions and opinions when your asking for input. I meant no disrespect but since you didn't mention how your list was made, I thought I'd mention a good tire that you might not have considered. Wanted to make sure you checked all your options. I understand if they don't have the tread pattern your looking for. With all that being said, If I could only choose from your list I'd go with the Cooper Zeon. I have never had any of the listed tires but I had coopers on a Celica I had in college and they were great tires. I have heard many good reviews on the Cooper Zeon on here in the past.

Pretty much going for the Zeons.

My other choice deviates from this slightly - the General Grabber AT2 in 305/55.

Still saving so it will be between these two I'm sure.
