2012 Silverado Crew Cab

I purchased a 2012 Silverado Crew Cab 5.3 V8 on 9/13/2013, Had it bk at the dealer 9/27/2013 due to the alternator going out. Picked the truck up on 10/2/2013 and returned it 10/3/2013 for the same reason. Svc manager says its an electrical problem. Is this common in Silverados? Maybe I should tell them to keep it? Help! Single mom with 3kids and sometimes IDK what to do in these situations..,

Still under warranty and has 27,000 miles

Not common, have them keep it and give you a loner.

Your truck is still so new, even though this is NOT normal, your truck still has lots of warranty left in her.

 

I wouldn't "throw in the towel" just yet. You still have free roadside assistance, which includes towing, & rental coverage (if your truck has to spend the night) in the 48 states.

 

Just keep us updated.

 

If this dealer can't fix it, try another dealer or call the GM "1-800" assistance # in the back of your trucks owners manual.

not normal. keep at them to figure it out, use that warranty.

Keep at it with the dealer. Even try a different dealer and take it to a GM case manager

Is the battery going dead, or are you notiucing that the voltage gauge is dropping as you drive it? That is considered normal.
