Would a steering stabilizer help with a problem I have?

First off truck specs:

2000 Sierra 1500 4x4 rcsb

2.5" leveling kit with 3" rear blocks

1.5" body lift

18x9 -12 offset wheels and 285 60r18 terra graps

For what it's worth the entire front end is 2 weeks old and I've had this problem for a long time.

The hwy I have to travel 20 miles each way to and from work is full of grooves and my truck pulls from side to side (rides the grooves) very bad especially when it's raining. It's to the point that its a wonder that I don't get pulled over for suspicion of DWI. I know the problem is primarily my wheel tire combo but what I'm wondering is would a steering stabilizer help with this any? I can't find a dual set up for my lift but rough country has a single tube one for a price I'd be willing to try if there is a chance it would help.

Have you gotten an alignment check recently? Excessive toe-in or toe-out can really amplify the "riding the grooves" problem.

As for the steering stabilizer I'm not sure it would really help all that much unless you have issues on smooth roads also. How does the steering feel on other roads? Do you have to make a lot of corrections back and forth?

It got an alignment a week ago at the local Chevy dealer. And on smooth roads it rides like a charm, absolutely no complaints. It's just terrible on this hwy.

Any other thoughts on this?

Your problem is the tire width riding on the sides of the grooves of the road that will cause you to sway side to side on the road grooves. The tire edges are riding harder and not riding flat then the rest of the tire causing this on grooved roads. A steering stabilizer will not help this as what they do is control sudden shock like hitting a pot hole etc.

When I had my Corvette it would do it bad on those type of roads due to the wide tires.

Did it affect the wear of your tires any?
