Hi, I have a 2014 Silverado (5.3 - 342:1 ) with stock 265/65R18 (31.6") tires on it. I would like to put a leveling kit (2in) and 265/60R20 (32") or 265/70R18 (32.6") tires on it. Would this be detrimental to the truck in any way? I don't want to alter the ride or mpg too drastically. I also tow a trailer that weighs about 8,000 lbs full (only tow it 2-3 times a year and mostly flat ground). Do I need to have it retuned after?

What rim size do you want to run, because the first size you listed is a 20. If you ate happy with your 18s then the second size you proposed would work. You could probably fit them with a leveling kit too.

I would rather run the 20" inch wheel, but if it is going to affect towing, performance ride etc... then I will run the 18.

Many people say the 18's ride way better than the 20's. I love my ride with 18's and have 2" in front and 3" blocks in rear.

I have a rough country 2" leveling kit on my Sierra and I'm running a 275/60/20 and I'm not rubbing at all and I haven't noticed any change in ride quality nor fuel economy.

Going with a 20" wheel/tire combo will not affect your towing. Going to a slightly taller tire (per your post an inch or less), will not require a retune. It may lower your mpg every so slightly, but I doubt you would really notice it.

Awesome, thanks. Nice truck!

Going with 20s will have less to do with towing but more to do with hauling. By that I mean a load in the rear. The added weight on an ATV on stock P metric tires causes a lot of sag, which increases the likelihood of rim damage. 18s or 20s are fine either one though, which ever you prefer.

You'll have no issues with the ride. As a matter of fact you can get much bigger tires with just the level kit. I went with 295/55/20 and the RC level. In hindsight. I wish I went straight for the 305/55/20 because there is plenty of room on these new trucks.

How much did the did the larger tire (295/55/20) affect your mpg's?

I have a 2014 Silverado LZT Z71 with the factory 18" wheels.

I would like the truck to sit a little higher. I don't use it off road so I don't want it to be real drastic.

Will a leveling kit affect towing in any way? I pull a car trailer and a bay boat.

I would like to get a slightly larger tire but would rather not go with a 8 or 10 ply tire if it is going to mess with the nice ride I have now.

I tried changing to a larger tire the day I picked it up but then decided to wait. I haven't seen exactly what I'm looking for yet.

I do want the truck to sit up a little taller.

Any suggestions?

The small change you are proposing will have a negligible effect. See my signature block for my changes.

That's a really nice truck. That's the exact stance i'm looking for, how wide are your tires?
