What is this box under the console ?

Hello,

I have a Silverado 2010 c/c with the full console.

under the console I have this black plastic box.

Anyone know what is in this ? and how to get the rest of the console off ?

well I guess I have no idea how to get a pic into this post...

it's the black box at the front ( near dash ) of the console, under the tray area.

I do have the Bose radio.

I believe there's a small 6 or 8" bandpass subwoofer housed in that box, and maybe the amplifier for the system..at least that's where the sub was for the 2003-2006 Yukon / Denali Bose systems. Unfortunately I don't have any info on how to remove it, nor experience. I've only seen them disassembled in an audio shop. Hope that helps some

yup, it is the sub.

That little black box is the Blose subwoofer. The Blose amp is under the console storage compartment.

Has anyone moved the subwoofer?

I want to swap the center console for a jump seat, but the subwoofer is exposed. Option 1 put it under the dash somewhere or option 2 move it under the jump seat by extending the wires.

 

Anyone ever do the console swap?

 

(PS Yes I know this is an old thread but thought it would make sense to put all the info in one spot.)
