leveling kit, top vs bottom spacer?

hey guys, ive been doing some reading online and trying to find a 1.5 inch kit for my 09 sierra, several kits i found were just a plate on the top, and some were a u shaped bracket that goes under the strut. i did a bit of reading on here and couldnt find anything on the topic, but which is better? the u shaped unit looks a lot easier to install and its half the price. this one here on ebay comes to mind, found it while looking for a kit online today

Stick with the lower "U" shaped spacer as its easier to install and doesn't require you to remove the whole strut as the top spacer does.

good stuff thanks, is there a brand i should look for with something like this? the link i posted is likely just some no name piece made on a cnc mill, but it says its billet and has grade 8 hardware.

the bottom strut mount is easier to install and achieves the same thing. dont forget the alignment, RC is a 2" leveling kit, and its one of the most affordable leveling kits out there.

thats a price i can afford, thanks for the help fellas, ill order one up today from rc, figure id rather buy a name brand even if it is just a hunk of metal.

does anyone have pictures of any larger tires with a 2 inch leveling kit? ive got the 265/70/17 tires now, i want to get a little bit more of an aggressive stance but not go too crazy, thinking of bumping to an 80 series tire from a 70, or any other suggestions you guys have?

285/70/17 is the largest recommended tire size for the leveling kit.

ok great thanks, thats what i was thinking too after doing some more reading last night i just wanted some confirmation on it.

ended up buying some 285/70/17 cooper ats 3 tires today, should have them this week along with the leveling kit, cant wait to see how she looks finished
