that's what I'm holding out for, the supplier discount get me about 3,800 off the truck price, but that's not enough for me to jump just yet. I'm waiting for 6 to 8 off the sticker before I buy.

When do the incentives normally get released? I see no incentives on the website right now.

All is see is $1000 cash or 2.9% on gmc.com. Normally it takes thought the weekend for the internet to catch up with any type of loyalty, bonus cash, etc.

Eventually, yes, but for now they are holding the line.

DETROIT -- General Motors sales in October rose 16 percent while it continued to flex pricing muscle, fueled by strong sales of pickups and SUVs.

GM delivered 226,402 light vehicles last month. Retail sales rose 16 percent while fleet sales increased by 14 percent.

Sales of the recently launched 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, which carry few incentives compared with rival pickups, drove a big increase in average prices. Overall, GM pared incentive spending while average transaction prices jumped 7 percent from a year earlier, to a record high of $34,672, according to TrueCar.

Here's the conclusion from recent Car and Driver post...

As Ford rolls out the 2014 F-series this month, chief sales analyst Erich Merkle said he doesn’t expect incentives to change.

“We’ve seen our competitors’ incentive spending go high and we’ve seen it go low,” he said. “We tend to take a very consistent approach.”

In a vehicle segment that feeds off these instant discounts, we’re not sure GM can hold onto low incentives for very long before the bean counters demand another price war.

Which is exactly the logic GM already announced. The price increase is there entirely to allow for higher incentives. Americans are a relatively unsophisticated group when it comes to purchases. We care more about how much we "saved" instead of how much we "spent". When Ford is offering $2500 incentives vs. GM's $1000 the perception is the Ford is a better "deal". Never mind the fact the OTD price for similarly equipped vehicles are within $500 of each other. Packages differ so wildly between makes that it makes it hard to compare but I just did the math looking at 2013 Fords, 2014 Rams and 2014 Silverados and ended up with a Silverado in the garage. The OTD price for each equipped similarly was within $500 across the three, I chose the one with the latest engineering vs. buying a 3 or 4 year old design.

There's a classic example, one that will be used extensively in business schools over the next decade, that exposes Americans gross lack of sophistication when it comes to shopping, JC Penney. They brought in a new economy CEO from Apple who championed a complete change in their pricing model. Instead of having endless sales he was confident shoppers had grown more sophisticated and decided sales would end and pricing would be reduced across the board. Sales plummeted 40%. He was shown the door and they went back to their sales mentality, sales came back, though not to the levels before the change as people had become disenfranchised. It didn't matter that the OTD price of a pair of jeans ends up being exactly the same price, people just feel better when they see the "you saved $5.00" on their receipt.
