Ok so I decided to look at option of upgrading truck from extended cab to crew. When I bought my current truck new in '11 got ext cab z71 all star package and convenience pkg with bucket seats. Truck is very nice and I paid $29,650 aprox before tax, tiltle. I Priced out comparably equipped crew cab (no bucket seats) did have my link, back up camera and rear window and dealer came back at $43600 before tax and title. Holy #$*&. How in the world can anyone justify that kind of increase? Do you guys think price will come down next year or what?

I would agree with that statement. I can only imagine how much a crew 2500 would be.

If you could be happy with a 2013, I bet you could come close to the price you paid for your 2011. There are a lot of rebates/discounts going on now on the 13's.

It is a brand new model and it cost to be one of the first to have them. This coupled with inflation and that is what it costs to drive a new Silverado. I speak with experience from owning earlier years including a 2011 and 2013 that my 2014 is way better. Smoother, quieter, way better looking inside and out, and a overall better truck. So why is everyone bitching about the price? If you want a cheaper truck then go get a Ram or Ford with the 10k rebates or a used one. Personally im happy with my 2014 Chevy Silverado LTZ. It is Granite Blue 1LZ with the 3.42 gearing and every option except the driver alert which I did not want.

The cost of the new 2014 models are high, way to high for me right now, But do some looking around from time to time just to look.. You might have to travel a little bit but if you can find a dealer that deals in high volume you can get a pretty good deal. I have been looking at a dealer is located in Bastrop, TX, the dealer name is Covert Bastrop I bought my last truck there used and they are by fare the best dealership that I have ever dealt with.. They have an 2014 GMC Sierra SLE that I am looking at for around 34,000 or so.. They also have pretty good used inventory too.. Just my thoughts..

I just bought the 2014 LTZ with every option available even sunroof 45k putting 2 12" kicker subs in Tuesday and gonna lift it 6" with 35's right after that love the truck they are way better than the 13. Also supercharger once it gets broken in good should be somewhere around 450 hp.

have to agree with several posters above. the 2014s are totally different trucks. having owned a 2011 for 3 1/2 years, I was shocked beyond belief at the difference. you simply can't compare them, at least in my opinion.

and of course ya get what you pay for.....and you are paying for a completely different truck. They've upgraded the brand and significantly.....
