When you see them go away from the scene or assisting the Paramedic in the ambulance sometimes you think "this person would be better off dying"

 

But that person is admirable going through life like that

I know what you mean. In the eyes of the Gov't it's wrong, but I don't see a #### thing wrong with   it.

I read about her story on www.snopes2.com. You can download a Powerpoint presentation that has the story and a lot of pics.

Now all of you know that I'm a big drinker. But, having learned my lesson a long time ago, I always try to get the point across to my troops about the dangers of drinking and driving.

I showed this story at training last week and simply blew the guys away. I think a couple of them had tears.

Our local newpaper ran a that girls story leading up to New Years day.  It was written by an man in Houston Tx, I think and it ran there first.  It is one sad story all in all.  My mother in law was killed by a drunk, in 1982 so it can touch anyone anywhere at anytime.

That is so sad.  Imagine the physical as well as mental stuggles that poor woman has to go though everyday.  If I was her I doubt I would be able to go on with life at all...she is a fighter, and a tough one at that.

It never ceases to amaze me how stupid and inconsiderate some people can be.  I have a low tolerance for people abusing alcohol due to having to deal with them at work.  And there is no excuse or reason for getting behind the wheel afterward.  On a related note, my cousin who's 38 now was in a near-fatal dui wreck in December of 86 I believe.  He hit a pole and cut my aunt's accord in half.  He's had a few dui's since despite being told he couldn't drink due to medical reasons.  And he got popped by another guy on my shift yesterday for driving under suspension and drug parapharnalia.  Some people never learn...he and 2 others around his age at the time of the wreck were in the hospital for head injuries(I know 1 of the others fell down carpeted stairs)...my cousin was the only 1 who made it, and here he goes pissing a second chance away.
