Spray in bedliner over the bed rail removal.

So the truck I'm getting has the liner sprayed over the bed rail. I don't really like that and was wondering how hard can it be to remove it?

Has anybody done it?

Be ready to spend thousands in bodywork. Leave it or buy a different truck.

I would leave it on there. When they install these liners they have to scuff up the paint to get the material to stick better. Even if you do get the material off the paint is more than likely ruined under it.

Professionally installed spray-in liners require sanding of the paint for adhesion. Thats the drawback, once installed they become permanent.

Thanks

Just picked it up on Saturday and after looking at it in person it doesn't bother me too much. Especially after researching how the liners are sprayed and how they scuff up the paint.

Ill just let it be.

Not going to make my decision over a spray liner. Its staying on there.

I think you'll like the no-scratch protection the over the rail liner provides ,,when you see how easily these newer trucks scratch due

to very thin paint. My2500hd is black (not by my choice it was used) and the spots behind the door handles where your finger nails barely touch will show you just how thin the paint is ....they also sell protective film pieces for these too

Good luck :cheers::chevy:

Not to mention these trucks have such a wide rail... The width of the rail lends itself to denting easy. The over the rail liner really helps protect against that.
