2004 3500hd rear fender repair

When the temp falls below freezing the fenders become brittle. there is not a truck in my town that has good fenders, Chevy, said there is not and issue, seem to me that if the material fails at or below freezing temps there is a problem.

what are the 2004 3500hd 4x4 fender made from?

What material can I use to repair the cracks or re-attach the broken pieces?
