Urgent drivetrain help

Today I replaced the encoder ring sensor in my 2005 2500HD with the 6.0 in it. When I go to see if my 4wd system worked as it should it had a red light on the N position on the switch panel. It won't go into 4hi but if you rock it and mess with the buttons it will do 4lo and 2hi. But it is making noises. Is it the encoder that isn't calibrated or are the gears for the motor in a wrong position?

I did some research and I read that the new sensor needs to be recalibrated. Can this be done at a dealer or what is one way to update the sensor DIY.

i believe a reprograming of the TCCM is required but there is no recalibration ,lol,you read wrong

Is there a specific way those gears have to go or can you just put it back in an then the reprogramming will let the sensor know that ok now it's in 2hi and here is 4lo...etc. (The gears above the encoder ring sensor)

did ya mark the gears location with a paint stick or a sharpy?

No but are there marks to line it all up or does it not really matter how they are lined up?

I think I might have the main gear above the sensor 180 degrees off because it can do 2hi and 4lo but not 4hi which is in between
