Cancelled my '14 Denali Order

Eh, I don't care for JD Power...their ratings are weird...not an accurate representation of reality. Just look up how they tally their findings.

They rated the CLS550 in bad quality yet the car is better than the LS460 in terms of materials used.

Umm, you're not surprised the CLS is junk pile? Lots of mercedes cars fall apart. The S class is their shining jewel but they're no stickler for quality like many assume.

To the OP - I think you're a bit gun shy bro, I have 6,000 miles now on my 2014 and it has not given me 1 lick of trouble, zero issues whatsoever. The Ram is a new design as well, w/ a brand new tranny....you don't think they'll also have their fair share of problems? The Denali is going to be the top dog truck of the big 3 regardless of what Ford or Dodge brings to the table, it is just the way it is. I would take ownership of it 100% if I were you. Did you get the 6.2 or 5.3?

There's just alot of whine-bags on this forum, a little more than your average car/truck forum, but really nothing out of the ordinary. People are always looking for something to complain about.

There's the same amount here as anywhere else. One of the ram forums I was on damn near every complaint thread got deleted.

We can chalk up to this, all trucks have issues and its really more about what you like brand wise.

Some have a lot more problems than others, but yeah you're pretty much correct.

What you like, I think it's more of what you can afford! Oh and how do you "chalk up to this" you wrote in original???

I was speaking to the crowd who is buying what they want, which obviously he is. Chalking it up is referring to this entire thread folks are talking about what is wrong with GMC and now its what is wrong with Dodge. So in essense we can "Chalk it up" to all vehicles or in this case trucks having issues of some kind.

Suit yourself, bud. I wouldn't cancel my order based on what I read on the internet!

You could probably read a forum for EVERY car/truck on the market, and get scared off based on what people post online. Doesn't mean they're ALL bad.

I had a 2010 C6 Corvette and then an '06 Z06 (all within a short ~2 years) and both were AMAZING cars (the Corvette is GM's flagship car, after all). But if you go on any 'Vette forum, you can read horror stories about them too. Nothing is perfect, and nothing is built to last.

I guess somebody else is going to get to enjoy your truck once it arrives :).

I was just giving the OP a little information. He canceled his Denali order because of problems, and he's looking at a Ram because they don't have problems. That couldn't be further from the truth.

Yeah I got it, but that's not what you wrote. You wrote "chalk up to this" Symantics, grammar or whatever...

No problem, One thing to consider a lot of people don't buy what they want, but what they can afford. Like others have said. Just because others are having ussues, I would not be to quick to cancel before I did research on my future choice.

Just my .02

Agree, seems like a knee jerk reaction due a message board.

Eh guys, you are partially right...it is a bit of a knee jerk reaction, but it's also partially because I really liked the Ram limited. As I've said in numerous threads, NOTHING against GMC, LOVE the truck but I'll just wait a year or two for them kink out the issues before buying.

CLS550 didn't give me any issues. Not one, but than again I work from home so I don't drive more than 30 miles per day. Who knows how it'll hold up after 50k+ miles.

All of you guys have valid points here, not one of you is wrong. I find the whole car thing to be so subjective and interesting.

I need to get into the car selling business as I do enjoy it very much.

I ordered a 2014 Sierra SLT 6.2 Z71 loaded on 10/22 - TPW week of 12/23. After reading the forum responses on issues with new 2014 vehicles, I'm going to go with my gut. From what I have read, the GM engineers took the conservative road on design changes to minimize quality issues. I currently own a 2008 Sierra SLT 2500 Duramax and previously a 2002 Silverado LT Duramax.....no problems with either of these vehicles, so I am going to leave my order intact and trust the company will not be shipping out crap on their cash cows!

I'll certainly take some forum advice and give the new truck a 'shake-down' drive and let you know how I make out after I get a few miles on it.
