Tire question

Has anybody ran a 305/70R16 tire on the stock rims for the 99-06 Silverado/Sierra. I have the Torsions cranked to where my truck sits level and I currently have a 245/75R16 Michelin and it looks ridiculously small on my truck, will I be able to run 305's with out chopping my truck up to keep it from rubbing, or should I stick with a 285?

I have 265 BFGs All terrains with no issue, I have seen a lot of guys run 285 with no issues. Above that you will have to cut the air dam etc.

How big of a difference is there between 33's and a 285 tire?

On Summit Racing's website they show that the 305/70/16 and the 285/75/16 BFG All Terrain have both the same tire diameter, 33 inches. So I'm kind of confused. Is the 305 just a wire tread and the 285 a taller sidewall?

The 305 is wider, sidewall height is near identical

With the 305 being wider when you turn it will cause it to rub.
