played with a Small screen radio today....

First one I've seen in person at my dealership, it was a sold unit in the service department, the keys were in it and they let me play with it.... I test drove a Ford last fall when I was shopping with a non touchscreen small screen radio like this and it was confusing as heck. the GM one is logical and there's no learning curve. I really liked it for what it is.

Yeah, I have the bare bones base radio in my 1WT. For what it is, not that hard to navigate.

I have a '14 K-500 W/T Reg. Cab

It has the base radio, No On-Star or XM

What do I need to plug into the do hicky in the console to play tunes ?

is that what the spot next the the charger deal is for ?

I really could not find anything that was of any help in the owners manual

and I'll admit I'm electronically challanged being a child of the 70's that

is comfortable with my flip phone. :sigh:

You have three options inside the console, you can use the AUX jack, which is pretty straight forward, or you can load some music on an SD card and slide it in, or connect something like an iPod or smartphone with the USB. Then you hit media on the buttons and it gives you the choice between AUX or inserted media

THANK YOU So Very MUCH !

I'm thinking that the ipod deal is for me, then I could also use it on the ATV.

I greatly appreciate your help

I've only played with the 8" screen a little bit (only really looked at regular cabs), so I don't know that well what I'm missing out on. But I don't find the 4" to be lacking or anything. Nothing about it lets you know that you missed out on features or functions that are in the big screen. I am perfectly happy with it.
