No 4low and transmission slipping?

My 03 2500hd with new motor is having last two issues.

One

Won't go into 4low and yes it's in neutral when I hit it. It blinks and goes back where it was.

Also

When shifting to 2nd unless I Matt the gas it seems as if went into neutral mid shift revs up and slams into second if i don't let off. Could this be because of new fluids?? It's also a bit over the fill line. Do I need a trans now?

Thx

agreed ,,,scan the TCCM

oil over full slightly does not make a tranny slip or new fluids

have the PCM scanned while your at it and report back ,,,,,

what is t case oil level and condition ?

I have a code reader and a tuner both show up with nothing.

t-case are good and new. I just took it apart to do the (t-case fix) before it gets a hole in it when I had the motor out. I filled it up till fluid came out of the fill hole. also 4low was working in the beginning and now its not.

the tuner actually seemed to clean up the shifting a bit.

It can't read Tccm codes I believe

Please explain the Tccm? Also I am looking at $2400 for a trans that's fairly built? Seem reasonable? Shop said I gotta bring it in and they rebuild it. If that's what I have to do.

I was told $85 an hr.

and I supply parts

all from summit

high performance over haul kit. high performance clutches Kevlar bands

hardened out put shaft

billet clutch hub

shift kit

and a performance converter. not sure what stall was looking at 1500.

that comes all out to$2400 if I bring him the trans.

cant I flush my own cooler?

sure ya can , you can use brake cleaner and push it thru with air ,,,,

or varsol

you'll have to have the shift adapts reset by a scanner that is capable of that function ,,,,,,

my road test after a rebuild went like this ,,,,,,

fill tranny to full cold ,running ,,,

pull away taking it easy ,,,go down to thru the gears and back up to D4 (not hitting highway yet ),,,off to a highway ,,,get to speed limit slowly ,,,go about (miles conversion) 7 miles ,,,turn around ,,,,put the hammer down(at least 3/4 pedal) to max out each gear to speed limit ,,,,,also make sure up shifts(passing gear) works along the way ,,,

get back to shop ,,,check level ,,,should be near full hot mark ,,,,,,check for leaks ,,,,,

IF ANYTHING DOES NOT WORK OR SES LIGHT COMES ON RETURN TRUCK TO BUILDER !!!

reset shift adapts BEFORE road test

if he doesnt offer a warranty ,,,,,stay clear of the tech/shop

well I took it to bob at godfather racing. he rebuilt it and got me a tq converter. he did a fine job! nice and smooth. only have one problem still.... no 4 low!!!! is there suppose to be a green light on the switch panel when you put the truck in neutral because mine not lighting up and it could be that its not reading that it is in neutral? any way to test it?

Most scanners won't pick up TCCM codes. You may end up having to take it to a place with a Tech 2 scanner (dealership or otherwise).

Is that right Rob?

yup or a good snap on scanner just not a POS code reader that typically reads engine codes only .lol

remember ,there are only 10 or so modules on todays drive by wire veh's that love to barf out codes lol
