Factory undercoating is peeling off!!

I don't even think they removed my spare tire to fix my frame. I love how GM doesn't instruct all of their dealers to fix this problem the same way.

Body shop says it is literally a case by case basis. They removed my spare to assess damage but no repair was needed in that area.

Mine didn't even go to the body shop. The service rep thought it should though and we walked over to the dealer's body shop together and the rep in the body shop told her "no this is a service department issue and those guys know how to fix it over there." So it went back to the service department where they sprayed it with some 3M brand coating.

That's a shame to have a new truck disasembled like that.

 

Any idea on when GM started to add the thicker coat to avoid this problem??

I know they were showing up on the local dealer's lot early March so I'm guessing it was addressed during the late fall/winter.

Dunno, the rental Silverado I had from two weeks ago had literally just rolled off the truck and it was good.

Ok this just got really interesting. When they replaced my entire dashboard to include the glove compartment doors back in March I guess they threw the sticker out with the door. If my recollection is correct it was built in December. Where is the sticker supposed to be located on the lower door or the upper door?

 

Additionally my frame did not look like that before I picked it up this week. I will try to find some pictures so I can post up a before and after. Is it possible to order a new RPO sticker?

Dealer totally redid ours for free this week for the tsb. I am 100% pleased I'll get pics tomorrow. They totally scrape and remove the grease/wax and replace it with a three cost undercoating!
