Waltrip Wins

:D  :)  :thumb:   Go DEI !!!

But I was wishing it would go back to racing.  Looks like Jr. may have the same luck his dad had at Daytona (he can win there anytime he wants however he wants, unless it's the 500).  I think Jr. still had a shot.  All he needed was a caution to get back by Waltrip and on the lead lap, he had a good car.  I would've liked to see if it would've held up.  At least if my two favorites couldn't win, it stayed in DEI.

It didn't feel the  same having the Daytona 500 shortened. But I'm still glad Mikey won.

If my man Martin can't  win. Then Mikey's next on  the list.  :thumb:

How about that flip  by Ryan Newman?

He didn't  "win"   they gave that race to him...

nascar needs to change the policy on half time wins and make them finish the race the next day no matter what the circumstance...

I would have rather seen harvick or j. johnson win  instead of someone who's won it before

I thought the race was good, I wish it wouldn't have gotten shortened by rain.  If the race wouldn't have gotten ended early I think that Harvick and Robby Gordon would'a had something for Jr and Waltrip.  It's kinda sad that Harvick and RG were the only people that actually attempted to get around the dei cars.

I think NASCAR needs to do something about the way they they make descisions like this.

When the Red flag flew for the 2nd time they should've gone and looked at the radarand said "Well, this is what we're gonna do..."

In this situation,  the best thing to do would've been to say "Well, the radar looks clear for tommorow, so we'll finish this then."

That way I could've gone outside and played in the snow instead of staying in-front the TV  for 2 hours all just  so they could say Welp, that's it, the race is over, Michael Waltrip won, see  you next weekend at "the Rock"!

I would've liked to see it go all the way, but I've heard teams say before that they would rather have one called than go until the next day, because the short week makes it so much harder on them.

I liked the idea that was raised in the interview Darrell Waltrip did with Rusty, J. Gordon, Little E, and Busch.  They said they wanted all the races moved to Saturday night, and then you could still run Sunday afternoon if it rained.

I'm sympathetic to everyone that didn't get to run the full race, but nothing was "given" to Micheal Waltrip.

He had one of the fastest cars, he led under a green flag, and he was in the right place at the right time.

I have always liked the idea of saturday races, day or night. It would work perfect in those rainy situations and I know for me its better for a few reasons. 1. I am not in such a rush leaving the track so I can get back to school monday morning. 2. If a race is rained out on saturday I can more likely stay over till sunday than I could stay over till monday. Oh Well, I dont go to that many anyway.....

Yeah, and he also had a teammate trying to get laps back who probably had the only car strong enough to pass the leader...

 It ain't right to cut short any race.  All races need to be run to their full length!

I have to agree with a point I saw made on Inside Winston Cup.  If I had been at that race, and had a plane ticket to fly back Monday that was non-refundable, I would've been ticked off if I missed the end of it because they finished Monday.  No Matter what they do someone is not happy.

It's stated in the rules that after halfway it's official, so if they can't finish that day it's over.  Everyone knows this going into the race.  It's been this way for along long time.  It works, so I see no need to change it, unless they are going to change the whole format and start races on Saturday.  Then MAYBE!?!
