Yep happened on my 2011 but have not seen it on the 2014 yet. My theory was that when slowing down the water rushes down to grill where the fan may create enough turbulence to kick it back up?

Paint sealant/shine package will help this. It makes your paint as non stick as a teflon frying pan. The snow and water slides right off on the brakes instead on acceleration, so it all goes forward instead.
