Not a complaint/problem, just an observation about the hood

Has anyone noticed that when you have a lot of water on your hood, from rain or melted snow...when you get down to 25 miles per hour it all flies up onto the windshield? Again, I'm not complaining...and this isn't something GM should try to address....but it's sort of funny. It really is amazing what subtle changes to the exterior of a new vehicle will do to water and air flow. It's done this several times while I'm driving, and as soon as you slow down to 25 it's like someone hiding behind your grill turns a garden hose and sprays water up and onto the windshield. Yesterday I has a bunch of wet snow that had melted because the hood was warm and kept testing this at each stop light...as soon as my speed fell to 25 mph...here came the water in large amounts. LOL. Just a wierd characteristic. Perhaps a bug guard would solve the issue? Anyway, it was making me laugh yesterday at how weird it was. Hopefully it stays funny and doesn't cross over to annoying!

I had a 2007 Tahoe, 2010 Tahoe, 2012 Silverado water would slide off to side or going off to front when you come a stop. What getting is the rattling on front right passenger side its small compare to other issues but gm tech had the dealership grease the molding and use double side tape. I just looked at him on 50k truck. Then you heard about your instrument panel could blink out but gm says it no big deal. I had that happen to got a work order to prove gm told nhst that had record on file. Dealerships are recording this stuff in system right thats why it cant be address the way it should.

Yea, does the same thing on my '07 Silverado.

I've noticed this too. Not really a big deal to me either, but i thought about it some more and it just goes to show you the aerodynamics of the truck have improved. That water is getting caught in the stream of air flowing over the hood and shooting backwards. Might be annoying, but i'll take the improved aerodynamics any day.

When I get to a certain speed mine will kind of puddle in one spot and splash around until I stop and it rolls off the hood. It's kind of funny.

It is funny. Just this am it did it on mine, a deep pool of water was staying right in the center on the hood closer to the windshield. As soon as I took a sharp corner it all flew off in one stream...kinda cool.

It has done it on my 2004 Colorado, 2006 Silverado, 2007 Silverado, 2009 Hummer H3, 2011 Silverado, and now my 2014 Silverado. The only vehicles I've owned this century that haven't done it was a 2001 and 2010 Camaro SS. It's part of owning the GM truck. I'm not sure about other brands....I don't remember if it did it on my dad's Bronco back in the early 90's.

My 14 does this. Something to get used to as none of my other vehicles have done this.

Very strange, this is my 3rd Silverado and the first time I've ever seen this behavior.

That is strange. I know during the first rain, when I hit the brakes, I watched to see if it still did it on the new design. Sure enough it did.
