petey1326 Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 As title states need help figure out the best or cleanest way to cut a factory chrome bumper without burning it. Any ideas or help would be much appreciated. Thanks
Btuggle88 Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 What on earth are you cutting the bumper for and on what? Probably the least likely to scorch the chrome would be a saw such as hacksaw, sawzall, or air saw with hacksaw blade.
petey1326 Posted March 25, 2014 Author Posted March 25, 2014 That's kinda where I was at to with the saws. I might have to trim my front bumper on a 2014 just a hair to fit the rim tire lift combo I am trying to run but will not know till next week.
GasHog369 Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 First put 2 strip of blue painters tape over chrome side by side. And cut in the middle of them.. This will protect the chrome from scratching from the shoe / base of jig saw. Then using a very fine tooth metal cutting blade, slowly cut and let the saw do the work. Do not push the saw, let it do the work .,
