My Regular Cab Sierra

Quick answer is Not that I know of! I wish that stupid search would let me go to a bigger radius of my postal code. Like the whole province for example! In this case I just put in different postal codes for different parts of my province until I found this truck and what dealer it was at! It seems like when you get away from your local dealer area it does search a bigger radius. I may be dreaming! I actually found two other trucks like this one when I was searching. This one had the driver assistance package that I wanted and the others did not.

But if you do have specific options in mind the only way to achieve this is to factory order! I have done that before and had both good and bad experiences!

So the truck has $6500.00 damage! Combination of paintless and conventional body work. 3 years of lease and dump it is about how I feel right now!

My house needs new shingles, evestrough and facia, skylights, vinal fence repairs, etc. etc.

The whole episode is disheartening to say the least!

Thanks Brandon! Has left me in a foul mood for the last week since it happened!

I guess it could have been way worse though! I can't imagine what some of you have gone through with tornados and such!

Yeah Mike is right ! No full console.

Gm has never put a full console in a reg cab truck! The 2002 reg cab truck I had was the last year they put a short between the seats console in making it a true two seater! I actually like it better this way. Best of both. I actually like the folder better because it is up higher and you can use it as an armrest. The seats are still independent as well so they are like a bucket seat.

Actually, weren't the 454SS regular cabs back in the 90's available with bucket seats and a console? That's when they had the option for the red interior.

Sorry to hear that man! I'm out in chestermere, and was watching that storm roll through Airdrie on the news. I was getting pretty nervous about it swinging south as my tools/saw are currently set up in the garage and I had no where to hide my trucks.

Thanks Dan! Yeah it was a nasty storm! Insurance people are saying that it is estimated that 75% of all vehicles in Airdrie have hail damage. That is just the cars and trucks. The houses look like they were riddled with bullets! I went for 17 years with out a hail storm bad enough to warrant a new roof. Now I have two new roofs in 2 years! I am sure premiums will go up!

Truck goes in tomorrow for about 10 to 15 working days of hail damage repair work. Repair will be a combination of panel replacement, paintless pulling and probably some traditional body repair! $6700 damage. Hope it works out, what other choice do I have!!!!!!!

Got truck back last Friday. Was in shop for 9 days. I am happy with the actual repair work (paint and dent repair) they did but man was it filthy when my wife picked it up! It was a little to much for her and phoned me crying! The guy offered her a free detailing but I guess it was a good thing I wasn't there! haha

But just these little things that drive you crazy. Like when you take a tail light apart would you not just assume that when you put it back together you would check that it works properly? Drivers side tail light had both main bulbs filament broke! Just stupid stuff like that. Very bad over spray too on the rest of the non repaired parts.

Between detailing the interior and getting the overspray off the exterior my wife and I have it back looking sharp though! Used Maguire's Clay bar on the overspray and all of our skills to clean Katskins and interior.

Sucks to have to go through that extra trouble. But on the bright side, you've got our truck back!

I think some pictures are in order

You are right Jon! That is how we are looking at it to. That is why we cleaned it up instead of trusting some knucklehead to detail it. It would never be good enough to satisfy my wife and I! Do you really think a detail shop would clay bar it? That is what I thought you would say! hahaha

Happy to be done with the truck, now we need to concentrate on house repairs. Some of our neighbors have their house fixed but not their cars and trucks. Our neighbor righ next door is not even booked in for her assessment on her Edge until Oct. Then who knows when the work can be done?

I could post more pictures but happily they would look the same as the ones at the start of this thread. They did do a very good job. Estimate was $6700.00 but the actual cost was $8400.00 so they spared nothing....................except detailing! hahaha It looks as good as the day I picked it up at the dealer now that I have all the overspray off!

Thanks to all of you for listening and some great posts! We do love our trucks!!

PS: Great looking Chevy Jon! Congrates on the purchase. Lets keep comparing "Short Box" notes as we go along!
